Narbonne
Some have written that Narbonne was
more a country than a town. This is the truth, because it is situated at
the crossroads of Italy, Spain, north of France and the sea. from the
second century bce, it is an open field for any influence coming
from North, East, West, and the other side of the sea. Naturally architecture art and even people reflect this diversity. This is the
strength of the country.
Our sejour will give you more than a flavour of this quality, showing you
the hidden details of the architectural center made of St Just Cathedral,
Cloister, St Paul Basilica and Archbishop Palace.
You will oppose the rgor of Albi and euberance of Narbonne with its
festival of sculptures, towers, belfries and flying buttresses.
Terra Vinea
This cellar has been established in an
old mine and now the monumental galeries host not only a complete
collection of all the best wines grown in Languedoc vineyards, but also a
very special collection of all what local artists or artesians are able to
produce in terms of masterpieces.
The final word is Authenticity
Canal du Midi
This canal (channel) is a very old
antic idea. The target was to make possible for boats to go from Atlantic
to Mediterranee without using Gibraltar. It became possible under Louis
XIV reign when Paul Riquet find the way to bring water to a 240km long
artificial river. He spent his complete life implementing this work. He
left us a very impressive water road, which is not used anymore for
commercial or industrial purpose, but gives a different touristic approach
to the country.
And much much more ...
